A San Jose man was killed in a vehicle crash on Thursday morning in San Martin, the California Highway Patrol said.The wreck occurred around 1:12 a.m. at the intersection of Monterey Highway and Highland Avenue, after the driver of a Ford F-150 ran a red light and crashed into a Kia Forte.The Kia driver, a 48-year-old San Jose resident, was taken to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center and pronounced dead. His identity has not yet been released.The Ford driver, a 59-year-old San Jose man, suffered head trauma and was taken to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center for treatment, the CHP said. (KRON) -- Two San Jose women were charged with felonies after they allegedly imported tropical fruit, some of which was badly infested with fruit flies.Hanh Hong Huynh, 42, and Thanh Tuyen Huynh, 36, were charged with conspiracy to import and sell fruit in violation of federal and state agricultural laws.The Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office said the women illegally imported langsat, a sweet and juicy fruit, from Vietnam and sold it in the Bay Area. Shipping containers were intentionally misidentified as "dried dish," "coffee," and "tea" to avoid inspection, prosecutors said. Investigators said some of the langsat was infested with larvae of a destructive fruit fly from Southeast Asia.District Attorney Jeff Rosen said, "This is serious and reckless behavior. If they spread, these flies can destroy crops. (KRON) -- A 74-year-old woman was injured after a hit-and-run Wednesday morning in Sonoma County, CHP Santa Rosa said on Facebook. The driver of a septic truck lost control and crashed head-on into a Mercedes-Benz SUV near Calistoga Road and Alpine Road around 11:38 a.m. The truck rolled onto the roadway before crashing into the SUV. (KRON) -- The Gilroy Police Department is requesting the public's help with finding a missing couple. Jose and Maria Dutra have not been seen since leaving their home in Seaside on Wednesday.
