INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — An Indiana board decided Thursday night to reprimand an Indianapolis doctor after finding that she violated patient privacy laws by talking publicly about providing an abortion to a 10-year-old rape victim from neighboring Ohio. The state Medical Licensing Board voted that Dr. Caitlin Bernard didn’t abide by privacy laws when she told a newspaper reporter about the girl’s treatment in a case that became a flashpoint in the national abortion debate days after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade last summer. The board, however, rejected accusations from Indiana’s Republican attorney general that Bernard violated state law by not reporting the child abuse to Indiana authorities. Board members chose to fine Bernard $3,000 for the violations, turning down a request from the attorney general’s office to suspend Bernard’s license. The board issued no restrictions on her practice of medicine. 10-year-old Ohio girl’s abortion prompts discipli...EMS' new pilot program speeds up water rescues on Lake Austin, Lady Bird Lake

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A new pilot program on local lakes aims to reduce response time and get people help where they need it. Austin-Travis County EMS will join Austin Police Department patrol boats this summer on Lady Bird Lake and Lake Austin."We know that time is imperative. We only have 20 minutes to get to (a person in trouble)," said Brad Lines, a rescue training captain with ATCEMS.Normally, ATCEMS has boats stationed around the city. When an emergency is called in, those boats have to be deployed, then reach the area where a swimmer or boater is in trouble and then helm them."APD (has) boats on the water. They have some boats on Lake Austin, Lady Bird Lake and they also cover a Decker Lake as well. Anytime they're on the water, if we have a paramedic on those boats with them, we'd be able to have the full medical coverage and capability to respond."The importance of response time on the waterAccording to Lines, after 20 minutes, the team goes from rescue to recovery mode. ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Today's 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma has to do with car trips and music. Here's the email: Get the latest, news, weather, sports and community events delivered right to your inbox! Hi Jaime. My family (Me, my wife, and our two kids) are taking a trip to the Jersey Shore for Memorial Day Weekend. From here, it's about a four-hour trip with no traffic. It will probably end up being more like five or six hours with traffic. Anyway, I'm a big believer that whoever is driving the car gets control of the radio and the music. That doesn't mean that sometimes I don't give up that power to the kids or that my wife doesn't steal the power from me. But for this trip, I want to listen to the music we can all agree on: the music TRY plays. Classic hits…Elton, Rod, Pat. But my kids think I should turn the radio over to them for two hours of the ride so they can listen to music from people like Harry Styles, Taylor Swift, and The Weeknd. No disrespect to them, but I don't wan...Family of 10 survives terrifying house fire

ST. LOUIS -- A family of 10 survives a fire in the early morning hours. The house that sits on Marilyn Lane is just off Route 157. Fortunately, everyone survived, including all the children. This family is certain to be shaken by the scary experience. Fire crews got the call here about twelve forty-five this morning. This fire is quickly growing to two alarms, with crews from five different departments in the metro east area responding to this scene. A family member said he was here when the fire started, along with his girlfriend and the eight children, who ranged in age from just two months old to 14 years old. The man says his girlfriend is the mother of all the kids. He is the father of three of them. He says most of the family members were spending the night outside in a tent. When the fire started, many of the people were already outside. Authorities tell me at this point that they believe that the fire was an accidental kitchen fire that started on the stove. Even though...St. Louis man to be sentenced for murder

ST. LOUIS -- Thursday was a great day, and Friday will be the same. Mid- to upper-70s again, with sunshine and low humidity. The whole Memorial Day weekend looks great, to be honest.Every day, the temperature will go up by a few degrees, but the humidity will stay low. This whole weekend and the next week look dry. Monday will be a great day for sports, grilling, swimming, boating, and remembering. We could use some good rain because the drought is getting worse in the middle and northeastern parts of Missouri, but it won't come for a while.Ask Amy: Boundary-building feels like control

Dear Amy: When do boundaries become a form of controlling?Last summer, my sister’s husband died by suicide. At her request, my parents and I helped with huge tasks through the blurry first weeks. Then, gradually, she reduced contact with us.Calls and texting were fine, and typical boundaries seemed to be respected. Then last week my sister mailed my parents a letter, saying that they could only use postal mail to contact her. (They had been sending short emails and texts of generic updates.)My parents are in their 80s and at a loss. She seems to be blaming our parents for everything, but with communication so prescribed there doesn’t seem to be a way to move forward. She also stopped responding to me, and I am hurt but feel like I can wait this out.I sent a birthday card and some bland notes to her.I did tell my mom that at least she didn’t cut off all communication, so that’s good.My sister also communicates with my older son (who lives in another country), whi...Germany to buy Leopard tanks, howitzers to make up for Ukraine shortfall
