Oakland photographer Chloe Sherman’s new book of images immerses viewers in the last time San Francisco might be able to say it lived up to its promise of being an epicenter of American counterculture.In the 1990s, San Francisco was the focus of a queer cultural renaissance, largely based in the Mission District. Then in her 20s, Sherman was part of this liberating, boundary-pushing social scene. Camera always in hand, she copiously photographed her friends — stylish and spirited queer youth, punks and artists — hanging out at clubs or around the neighborhood, at the beach or in the intimacy of their apartments.These photos now star in “Renegades: San Francisco the 1990s” (128 pages, Hatje Cantz). SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- There is a vehicle fire on the westbound lanes of the San Francisco Bay Bridge Tuesday morning that was first reported to dispatchers at 10:25 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. The CHP dispatched a SIG alert.The vehicle fire occurred on the approach to the Treasure Island Road exit. Westbound San Mateo Bridge traffic comes to crawl after 2nd crash The right shoulder is affected by the fire and the CHP advises motorists to expect delays.Video of the incident showed a large amount of black smoke emanating from a car that appeared fully engulfed in flames. (KRON) -- Traffic on westbound lanes of CA-92 across the San Mateo Bridge has come to a crawl after a second traffic collision Tuesday morning around 9:15 a.m. Earlier Tuesday morning, all westbound lanes were closed for about an hour before reopening.The latest severe traffic alert was issued by the California Highway Patrol after three vehicles were involved in a collision, according to the incident log. The right lane of westbound Highway 92 was blocked as of 9:35 a.m.Motorists around Hayward trying to travel west on the San Mateo Bridge face major delays of over an hour.At 6:41 a.m., all lanes of westbound Highway 92 east of the San Mateo Bridge were blocked in the first incident, according to the CHP. The lanes remained closed for around an hour before reopening. (KRON) – The Suisun City Police Department is investigating an incident in Heritage Park on Oct. 8 involving teenagers who were allegedly fighting and shots fired.The Suisun City PD responded to Heritage Park after being alerted to a brawl between a group of teens on Sunday. According to police, officers responded to a call indicating gunshot noises were coming from the park. By the time officers had arrived, all parties had fled the scene. Police shooting at Chinese Consulate in SF leaves one dead According to the police investigation, a group of teens and young adults were watching or involved in a physical altercation. One individual fired multiple bullets into the crowd. Following the shooting, all parties fled the park, according to police.Suisun City PD has not located any gunshot victims.
