14-Year-Old Boy Injured in Bicycle-Auto Collision Near 27th StreetLOS ANGELES, CA (June 21, 2023) – Friday evening, a hit-and-run crash on Main Street left 14-year-old Julio Flores with serious injuries.According to the police, the collision happened on May 16th, at around 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Main and 27th Streets.Initially, a black 2014 Kia Optima was stolen by four males at the 300 block of West 14th Street. Investigators said the tires of the speeding Kia started to lose traction as the suspects approached Adams Boulevard.Consequently, the driver fully lost control, letting the Kia travel in the opposing lane and hit the Flores. Authorities said that the driver did not stop and render aid to the young bicyclist.Responding medical personnel rushed Flores to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Reports said that the 14-year-old will need several months to recover and regain his ability to walk. (KTXL) — A court-appointed doctor has determined that the suspect in three stabbings in Davis is not mentally competent to stand trial, but a jury will determine if the criminal case proceeds, a judge ruled Tuesday morning. Carlos Reales Dominguez, 21, is accused of three attacks over April and May that killed two men and injured one woman. After his arrest, the judge suspended criminal proceedings against him in order for a medical evaluation to take place. After Tuesday's hearing, the judge ordered a jury trial in July that will determine Dominguez's competency. Suspect arrested in Pier 39 shooting identified If he is found competent, the criminal case against him will move forward. Reales Dominguez faces two charges of murder and one count of attempted murder, with a special circumstance for committing multiple murders. He has pleaded not guilty to all of the charges. For 11 years, Aftermath services has awarded thousands of dollars to law enforcement and first responder agencies across the country, helping run and maintain K9 units. (KTXL) — California's record snowfall in winter has been melting and has created a dramatic change in Lake Oroville, filling the reservoir that was recently known for being one of the most affected during the state's drought.The lake is California’s second-largest reservoir, and the record snowmelt has pushed the lake to its capacity.
